Scrub up for summer | face cleansers for oily skin

Woman splashing water over her face

Keep sebum production at bay this summer with face cleansers for oily skin. Our go-to cleansers, exfoliants and masks will help reduce excess oil to reveal a radiant glowing complexion.

Do you have clients complaining of a shiny face? Or perhaps the hot weather has seen them break out in pimples? Oily and combination skin types naturally produce excess oil, known as sebum, and during the warmer months of the year sebum can flow quite freely.

This can create a sheen on the surface of the skin and cause pores to clog with a build-up of sebum, resulting in blackheads and blemishes.

To minimise excess sebum, it is important to balance the production of oil without drying out the skin – which can produce even more sebum!

A good skincare regime with the right face cleansers for oily skin can reduce the amount of oil produced by overactive sebum glands.

Give your clients the confidence to get outdoors and enjoy summer without the fear of blemishes. Trulux has beautiful, ready-made cleansers, exfoliants, masks and moisturisers especially designed for oily and combination skin that you can relabel and call your own.

Cleanse

Cleansing skin morning and night removes impurities and helps control sebum and prevent blackheads.

Our hydrating Foaming Cleanse Cream removes dirt, oil and sunscreen, and is suitable for oily to combination skin types. Use plenty of water to form a lather, apply to the face then rinse off. For those who don’t like foaming cleansers, suggest our Cleansing Gel.

For particularly oily skin we recommend our Teen Blackhead Cleanser. This gentle cleanser is anti-clogging, anti-bacterial and anti-septic, and is perfect for teens or anyone experiencing overactive sebum secretion.

Exfoliate

Removing dead skin cells by gently exfoliating will also help in the battle to control sebum. It is important to choose products that don’t strip the skin however,  as that can result in the production of even more oil.

After cleansing, apply our gentle Exfoliating Cream to the face, paying special attention to the T-zone. Our non-abrasive facial exfoliater contains natural occurring AHAs to even out skin tone and texture and give skin a fresh, healthy appearance.

Massage in a circular motion then leave for five minutes before thoroughly rinsing. We recommend using the Exfoliating Cream one to two times a week.

Deep cleanse

Clay cleansers and masks are great sponges for oil. Clay is a natural substance that absorbs excess oil, cleans the skin, and unclogs and refines pores.

Trulux Clay Face Mask can be used 2-3 times a week, but is gentle enough to use every day. Apply a generous amount to the face and leave for 10 minutes before rinsing with warm water. The result is thoroughly cleaned skin that is soft and smooth, ready for hydration.

Hydrate

Oily skin needs moisturising to prevent sebum from over producing, however it is important to use a moisturiser specially designed for oily and combination skin.

Trulux’s non-irritating Oily Skin Moisturiser and Normal to Oily Skin Moisturiser prevent trans epidermal water loss to maintain moisture, and contains botanical extracts and natural AHAs to help control oil.
